I like it

There are so many kinds of businesses. (A friend once swore he knew of a hospital and grille in Gainesville, FL.) One thing we see over and over, regardless of the industry, is companies that have names that are puns. Some are hilarious; some are just, er, not.

We’ve got businesses like Kabloom, Thai Me Up (hm), Burger Fi, and Nothing But the Tooth. On TV, what Friend didn’t want to stop in for a cuppa joe at NY’s Central Perk?

Now websites Atlas Obscura and Digg are mapping the U.S businesses with the best — and worst — pun names, and they want your help. Even if you’re not sure you get the pun, but you suspect that’s what’s going on with some business’s inexplicable name, they want to know about it. Join in the crowdsourcing fun by clicking here to register your punny business. You have until September 7th.

Can’t wait to see this map! And meanwhile, as Atlas Obscura says, happy trails. Which is also a Texas sporting goods store.
